A Message from Sumire

Well here I am, 2 weeks into my life on planet Earth. The adventure has been pretty exciting so far. I have 3 people who are at my beckon call pretty much whenever I need them. The service is great, I just start wailing and in no time at all someone is at my side trying to figure out what I need. They are having a little difficulty interpreting my language and they seem stubborn about learning it so I think I may have to look into learning their language as an effort to improve communication. They all seem keen to give me lessons.

Anyways these helpers are amazing at assisting me but they are starting to look a little more tired than when I first met them. I have tried playing practical jokes on the helper who calls himself "dad" by projecting poo on him 4 times now while he was changing me but he keeps coming back for more so I think I will ease up on the guy. There is something he doesn’t like about feeding me though cuz every time he senses that I am hungry he passes me over to the other helper they call "mom". I don’t mind though cuz mom seems to be more than happy to help me out - in fact there are times when she seems a bit uncomfortable and wants me to eat even when I am not that hungry.

Bath time is fun too. Dad tries it out once in a while and although both of them are getting better than the first near drowning experience, Mom seems to be more skilled. The other helper called "Grandma" is usually close by taking pictures or trying to talk to me in that funny language they use.

So many people have come to visit me and even more have sent me presents! I think I have more clothes now than both Mom and Dad put together! I also have some pretty neat things mom and dad refer to as "toys" that I can’t wait to play with as soon as I figure out how to move my arms and legs around properly.

For now my life is pretty busy though - I spend most of the day eating, sleeping and pooing. Mom usually plays some music for me during the day and both her and grandma seem more than willing to keep me entertained. Dad goes away most mornings but he is back before supper. After supper its bath time then a bit of listening to stories or daddy singing (when I figure out this communication thing I will have to let dad know that his singing sounds a little funny and not much like the music mom plays for me!).

There are a lot of exciting upcoming plans too. Next week we will ride a bullet train to go to mom’s hometown. Grandma will leave shortly after that but we will all go on a plane to see her in Canada in a couple of months. Apparently there is a whole bunch of other people over there waiting to meet me too!

Anyways, my diaper is a little warm and gooey so I think I will finish up here and call one of my helpers over to change me. Bye for now and thanks for all the presents!
