Itakura visit

Itakura sensei and Akiko came for a visit this weekend. On Saturday we went to an indigo dye museum and the girls tried traditional dyeing techniques. On Sunday we visited Arashiyama, a tourist part of Kyoto. It was raining but we still enjoyed ourselves and had a wonderful lunch!

Swimming!

The first day of swimming class there was a lot of crying but after about 10 min of the guy teacher holding her she was ready to join the group (sort of). But from the 2nd day on she did great and passed her test and got her first swimming report card (all As)!

After the test we went to the local festival and enjoyed some great fireworks.

She enjoyed swimming so much we signed her up for the more advanced class the following week. She once again aced her test and got all As on her report. We have people visiting over the rest of the month so no more lessons for a while. Try to find Sumire in the video!

Summer in Canada - 2011
