Family holiday - Sumire's birthday (round 1)

At the end of March we all went to a hotel in a resort springs area near Kobe (Arima Hot Springs). Went out for a Kobe beef dinner and also had a cake to celebrate Sumire's birthday. Click on the picture for an enlargement.

Girl's day (Hinamatsuri)

It was girls day in Japan on March 3. Its not a national holiday (boy's day is on May 5th! - renamed children's day recently but well understood that it is boy's day) but there are some cultural festivities. The rice dish is called chirashi sushi (Yuki taught Stacey and friends how to make it last summer).

Sumire made this Princess and Prince display at school.

Swimming lessons

Spring break meant I could go and watch Sumire at swimming class. She is learning the front crawl - enjoy the videos (2 at the bottom).
