Poetry

Sumire is busy with school and enjoying the challenges of entering the secondary school program.

Here is a poem she wrote for English class:

Where I Come From
I come from maple syrup,
bacon and pancakes,
My stomach rumbles as I remember
the taste of delicious food.
I come from a mother and a father.

I come from the time my father
sang twinkle twinkle little star to me,
I come from the sunrise,
From the phrases 'Follow your dreams',
'Try your best' and 'Learn from your mistakes',
I have come from an alien world.
I am a character from the Going to Bed book.

I go to Mars in the summer,
losses of loving people come back in my dreams,
It is like a leaf from a family tree
coming back to life.

PYP Graduation!

Sorry to be sp far behind in my blog posts. A lot has happened since Cambodia... trip to Vancouver, to Alaska, to the Rockies, to Vietnam, to Australia, to Thailand, to Korea, and in a couple more weeks back to Vancouver. Wow! That is what has been keeping us too busy to update regularly! I will get to it one day...

Yesterday was Sumire's graduation from the IB PYP program. Next year she will enter Grade 6 and start the MYP. Enjoy the pix!
